The Portrait
The Saint James is the only château in Paris proper, which sounds like a boast until you stand in its garden in the 16th and understand that the noise simply stops. The apartments are in a separate villa next to the main house, and that geography is the product: the privacy of a flat, with a hotel of that calibre through a door.
Five named apartment types — Lamoureux, Courbet, Victor Hugo, Longchamp — and then Villa Saint James, four apartments that combine to sleep twelve across 3 660 square feet. The Lamoureux takes two to four people in 645 square feet. Each has a fully equipped kitchen, and guests keep full use of the garden, the Library Bar, Bellefeuille and the Guerlain spa.
No nightly rate is published; the villa is priced by the configuration and the dates. For a family taking the whole villa that is the right way round.
Who it suits: a family or two couples travelling together who want a garden in Paris and do not want to be in a row of hotel rooms to get it.
